Gagambino" is set to spin its web

Natuloy na rin ngayong tanghali, August 22, ang story conference ng pinakabagong primetime series ng GMA-7, base sa komiks character ni Carlo J. Caparas, ang Gagambino. Ito ang papalit sa Mars Ravelo fantaserye na Dyesebel nina Marian Rivera at Dingdong Dantes this October.

To be directed by Topel Lee and Don Michael Perez, Gagambino is a story of a group of superheroes with insect powers; think of it as a local Justice League in the animal world.

Title role si Dennis Trillo bilang si Gagambino at dalawa ang makaka-partner niya rito—ang leading ladies niya sa mga Sine Novela niyang Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap na si Nadine Samonte and the current Magdusa Ka na si Katrina Halili.

Playing lead villains are Jean Garcia na ina ni Nadine at si Polo Ravales na main nemesis ni Dennis.

Adding star power is Raymart Santiago, who, like Katrina, was not around during the story conference.

Sa mga young stars naman, kasama sina Jennica Garcia, Mart Escudero, Glaiza de Castro, at si Isabel Oli.

Join din sa already big cast sina Glydel Mercado, Benjie Paras, Krissa Mae of Gobingo, and si Leo Martinez.

Gagambino is set to start taping end of August.

While most celebrities love to go out of town to relax and unwind during free time, Isabel Oli just stays inside her room when at home. No, she’s not hiding from a stalker who bothered her the past weeks by sending morbid text messages and making calls that led her to fear for dear life. She leisurely spends time surfing the Net which connects her to friends from wherever they are and enables her to learn new things even inside the four corners of her room.

“I really enjoy surfing the Net the whole day and shopping on-line. There’s a lot to do even if I just sit all day in front of the computer as chatting with friends sometimes is more thrilling than just talking with them on the phone,” Isabel says during the first leg of PLDT MyDSL Ultra Broadband Blowout at SM Mall of Asia.

She, too, has a website which updates her friends, followers and showbiz watchers about her latest shows and schedules.

Her beau, Paolo Contis, Isabel shares, surfs as well whenever time permits. But thank goodness Isabel’s stalker doesn’t trace her on-line. The guy sent shivers down Isabel’s spine a few weeks ago when he kept on saying that he would kill her. Anyone in Isabel’s shoes would naturally feel scared and be alert whenever she is out for work.

“Initially, I was so scared. What if he really means what he’s telling me? I changed my number and prayed that nothing will happen but I will probably talk to him if ever we meet,” Isabel says.

The fervent prayers were heard as the stalker stopped bothering Isabel since then. She now worries no more and gleefully invites everyone at the SM mall to experience myDSL first hand when they subscribe to the latest package promos of PLDT.

The PLDT myDSL Ultra Broadband Blowout is the latest event of PLDT after it had its successful car drifting shows recently. This time, the ultra broadband blowout is the telecommunication company’s biggest promo event as it offers low-priced PC and Internet packages. PLDT landline subscribers can also upgrade its myDSL Plan 990 by just adding P300 monthly for unlimited DSL.

“This is a good chance for parents to avail the PC and Internet package at less the price in time for the opening of classes. Children now know what’s the latest especially about computers and parents are just there to pay,” Myla says.

Those who missed the chance to experience the PLDT MyDSL Broadband Blowout can still avail the promo on June 13 to 15 at SM North EDSA and June 27 to 29 at SM Megamall.

Isabel Oli: Prayer opened the doors for me

When she was 15 years old, Isabel got her first job. She remembers it clearly. She had to model a brand of soap for a print ad. She was able to work with Patrick Garcia for that endorsement. Back then, she was still a high school student in Cebu.

It was fun and extra special for her because it had been her dream to pose and primp in front of the camera since she was ten.

However--

�Pina-stop ako ng daddy ko kasi feeling niya masyado ako amazed sa commercial. I don�t wanna go to school. Wow, I can earn this much money pala! Tapos wala akong ginawa, nag-smile lang ako. Ahhh, I love it!"

But being the obedient and smart daughter that she is, she took her dad�s advice. His condition was fair enough, for her to finish her studies and only then can she dabble in modeling.

On Cartoons and Challenges

After college, she was supposed to go to Singapore to visit her brother but the SARS scare that was then all over Asia, stopped her. She was stuck in Manila. And, what did she do for the two weeks that she had to stay in the city?

�Sabi nila mag-VTR ka. Lahat ako, as in �di ako nang-hingi sa daddy ko ng pera. He respects my decisions when it comes to ganyan. [Sabi niya] Sige, hindi kita tutulungan pero sasamahan kita sa lahat. So,�yun sinamahan niya ako."

Isabel says that her path towards the glittery world of modeling and fashion was not easy. She gets the odd gigs here and there but she was never the lead.

She was always the supporting role. This then became her goal�a lead in a commercial. That was it. Once she got that, she would go back to school and get a second degree. Her first one was Information Technology.

�Gusto ko mag-multimedia arts, major sa animation sa Singapore. Sabi ng daddy ko, feeling niya mas gusto ko animation, cartoons, actually. Hanggang ngayon gusto ko pa rin mag-aral, sarap kasi mag-aral eh" she says with the sweet smile she is known for.

Daddy and Divine Intervention

Though she saw the trials she faced as a challenge, after six months of waiting for her big break, even the sunny, cheery Isabel was ready to call it quits. It seemed that it was fortunate she had a Plan B. �I was so sad. I was so depressed. Why am I here in the first place?" she asked herself.

On the last Sunday of her stay in Manila, Isabel went to church and she prayed like she never prayed before. She said, �Lord, guide me." Suddenly, a basket for offerings was placed before her.

She reveals to iGMA, �Kuripot ako! Tinignan ko �yung wallet ko, 250 [pesos] na lang �yung laman. Kasi nga ayaw ko mang-hingi. Pero alam mo yun, deep inside may feeling na talaga ako. The right thing to do is to give my money. May urge ako. [Pero] Hindi eh, hindi puwede kasi wala na �ko pera!"

But, of course, Isabel being Isabel, she gave it all, even though she didn�t have enough money to get home. The next day, a Monday, she dropped by her agency to say goodbye. She was already on her way out when her agent caught up with her and told her that somebody called and asked if she would like to do one last VTR.

She vehemently replied with, �No! I don�t wanna do that, tapos ano, �di na naman ako makukuha? Ayaw ko na! Insecure na insecure na �ko."

But it was her dad who pushed her and told her that she should at least try. That same day, she went. She came to the audition with no make-up, clad in her casual jeans and rubber shoes.

�They asked me to cry sa eksena. Tapos kunwari daw nakita ko �yung boyfriend ko may kasama iba. Sobra depressed ko siguro, dami ko iniisip, ayun!"

And she cried out all her frustrations and fears. Little did she know that within that week, she will do the same scene with �the" Piolo Pascual in the ad that made everyone fall in love with this young lady from Cebu.

�Grabe hanep, galing ni God! Buti na lang, hindi pa ako, nag-why God, why!! Bakit nangyayari sa akin ito?" She says with a laugh and continues, �In the end, ni-reveal niya, na ito perfect timing for you. And yun, sunod-sunod na, you can�t call it coincidence eh, or accident. Kasi nasa bible �yun eh, kung ano �yung ibibigay mo sa kanya, wholeheartedly, babalik �yun sa iyo."

Stil a Sweetheart

She may be the kontrabida hottie you love to hate in Maging Akin Ka Lamang but there is no doubt that even after a couple of years in showbiz, Isabel Oli is still the same old sweetheart who totally captured our hearts on Sugo. Text by KC M. Abalos. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio.

Isabel describes her relationship with her character Rosita as a “love-hate relationship.” She narrates with an emphatic nod, “I love playing her pero hate ko talaga siya!” Rosita is capable of anything. From lying to outright physical hurting, she will do whatever it takes to get the man she desires.

“Loka-loka” is the word Isabel often uses to encapsulate the character she has to become for the afternoon soap. The young actress believes that this is her most challenging role to date and despite the fact that she plays it so well, she manages to say goodbye to Rosita after a long day of taping.

Paolo’s Support


Despite her more mature role, it is obvious that Isabel still remains the sweet and lovely probinsiyana that the Kapuso audiences have grown to love. Proof is the story she shares with iGMA during her first taping day for the Sinenovela. She requested longtime boyfriend, Paolo Contis to be present during the shoot.

“Nandoon lang siya sa taping kasi sinabi ko kung pwede pumunta ka dito kasi it’s my first day and lahat ng eksena sa akin. Lahat ng iyakan, kamalditahan, paawa effect. Lahat in one day and the rape scenes!” She had to finish all her scenes because she was off for another gig in Singapore.


She told iGMA that she needed her partner’s support for that very demanding day. Paolo was sweet enough to accommodate Isabel. Straight from a La Vendetta taping, Paolo went to their location. He slept while Isabel was on cam but would wake up to encourage her in between takes.

“Sobrang bait! Dumeretso na siya doon. Wala pa siyang tulog!” Despite Paolo’s sweet gesture, Isabel still forbade him to watch the love scene. “Nahihiya ako!” she explained, blushing.

Fashion just got greener

After 60 years in the business, fashion retail giant Cinderella knows just how important it is to do one’s part for the environment.

“The issue of global warming has been a major concern in the past five years. In general, concern for the environment has grown all over the world, involving not only the fashion industry,” explains Malou de Venecia, Cinderella’s director of marketing and communications.

The company, which began as the very lucrative hobby of its founder Florencia Guanzon, may well have pioneered environmental campaigns here in the philippines, starting with its “work with nature, not against it” campaign in 1991.

Such was the campaign’s success that Cinderella undertook another environmental pitch in 2005, dubbed “be true to your nature.”

Both campaigns aimed to “spread awareness to make fashion greener,” adds Mariel Santos, third generation Guanzon who is now actively involved in the family corporation as merchandising department head.

“Environmental awareness is a lifestyle,” asserts De Venecia. “people are more and more conscious about preserving the environment, keeping themselves in shape the natural way and being selective about the materials or fabrics they use.”

For its part, Cinderella believes “that it is possible to raise both fashion and environmental consciousness at the same time.” To do this, it has reincarnated its environmental campaign, this time as “work with nature,” in partnership with Bantay Kalikasan’s Save the La Mesa Watershed project.

An eco-friendly canvas bag is the initial result of this project, which “makes a clear statement of what we need to do right now.”

Needless to say, toting Cinderella’s limited edition “work with nature” shopping bag brings the customer a step closer to making fashion greener. The bag is being sold at all Cinderella stores for only P299 with any purchase – definitely an affordable way to contribute to the cause of fashion and environment! “from the beginning, we’ve always been about affordable fashion,” adds mariel.

Fashionistas need not worry – the functional bag is also quite stylishly designed. You can use it for any activity, from weekend picnics and traveling to shopping at the mall or even buying groceries from the supermarket. Of course, you can always tell your friendly Cinderella salesperson to use the bag for your purchases at the store rather than the usual non-biodegradable plastic bag. “this simple act can save our environment and can do save our future,” the Cinderella owners reiterate.

Part of the proceeds of the bag’s sales will be donated to Bantay Kalikasan.

Cinderella’s “work with nature” campaign in partnership with Bantay Kalikasan will be launched on Feb. 7 at Cinderella SM Megamall (second floor, building a) featuring a “Fashion + Nature” photo exhibit by Sara Black and Luis Espiritu.

Isabel Oli can almost do anything in television and in print, but not in the movies.

Reluctant star pa ring maituturing si Isabel kahit kaliwa't kanan ang tinatanggap niya ngayong papuri sa kanyang first kontrabida role sa Sine Novela ng GMA-7 na Maging Akin Ka Lamang bilang si Rosita, ang award-winning role ni Lorna Tolentino noon sa big-screen adaptation.

Kahit ang kanyang boyfriend na si Paolo Contis, nagugulat sa acting range na ipinamamalas ni Isabel sa nasabing afternoon soap, especially her daringness. In one earlier scene, kahit isang seduction scene ang ginawa ni Isabel kay Polo Ravales, napuri pa siya ni Paolo.

"Sabi niya sa akin, ang galing ko raw palang mang-rape!" natatawang kuwento ni Isabel sa isang mini-presscon tendered by GMA Artist Center for her earlier today, February 20, sa Tomas Morato, Quezon City.

Very supportive daw si Paolo kay Isabel at naiintindihan ng kanyang boyfriend na trabaho lang lahat ito. Biggest fan niya raw si Paolo and also her worst critic.

"Siya rin ang nagsasabi sa akin kung hindi kagalingan ang arte ko sa isang scene. Sasabihin niya sa akin, ‘Ang pangit ng acting mo dito.' Hindi naman ako makasagot dahil alam ko namang may K siyang mag-comment dahil magaling na actor si Paolo," sabi ng model turned actress.

NEW FACE OF CINDERELLA. Natutuwa rin si Isabel na bukod sa kanyang Myra E endorsement, na nasa ika-apat na taon na ngayon, siya rin ang bagong face of Cinderella. She is the first local celebrity na mag-e-endorse ng giant clothing store. In one campaign, she gets to be photographed in her two-piece, something she doesn't normally do or even approve of.

Ngunit kahit nagpapaka-daring si Isabel sa television and prints at kahit gustung-gusto niya ulit magkaroon ng pelikula, hindi agad siya makatanggap ng offers dahil sa mga personal restrictions niya. In fact, napakarami na palang movie offers si Isabel na tinatanggihan for one reason or another.

"Ang dami na, ang iba talagang big break. Kaso ano, e..." bitin na pahayag ni Isabel.

Hindi agad ma-explain ni Isabel ang ipinupunto niya, so we asked her kung ano ba ang mga offers na tinatanggihan niya. Bawal ba sa kanya ang kissing scenes with other men dahil kay Paolo?

"Hindi, ‘no!" mabilis niyang sagot. "Hindi siya nakikiaalam sa ganoon. Nahalikan ko nga si Polo sa show namin, e... Yung mga sexy roles. Pinapag-sexy nila ako, wala naman akong ipapakita."

Kung nakapag-daring si Isabel sa Maging Akin Ka Lamang at nakapag-two-piece siya sa billboard for Cinderella, why not in the big screen, lalo na't big break ito sa kanya?

"Iba kasi ‘pag movie na, parang... Saka hindi na rin naman uso ang sexy movies, bakit ko gagawin?" ani Isabel.

SEX SCANDAL. Bigla niyang naungkat ang isang old news about her na may sex scandal daw siya.

"Ang cheap nun!" bulalas niya. "Nagalit talaga ang father ko. He was insulted. May sakit pa naman siya.' Tapos nakita ko ibinibenta compilation ng mga sex scandals daw ng mga artista, kasama sina Angel [Locsin], Katrina [Halili], ‘tapos ako ang cover at ang title ‘Isabel Oli Sex Scandal'!" tawa nang tawa si Isabel.

"Hindi ko mapanood ng buo ang video, nahihiya ako. Pero sa start pa lang, alam mo namang hindi ako, ang laki ng boobs nung girl! Wala ako nun!" sabay tawa ulit.

"Naku, kung gusto kong sumikat, ang dali namang sabihin na ‘Yes, ako po yung girl.' ‘Tapos sabay launch ng isang sexy movie. Pero that's not me and that's not my style," pagtatapos ni Isabel.

Sa presscon ng Ma*ging Akin Ka Lamang ng GMA 7, ikinuwento ni Isabel na naiyak siya matapos niyang gahasain, ang tatay ng sanggol sa sinapupunan ni Jennylyn Mercado.

“Sa scene kasi na ginawa namin ni Patrick, nilasing ko siya at dahil matindi ang obsession ko sa kanya, ni-rape ko ta*laga siya.

“Naiyak ako after, kasi parang hindi ko alam kung ano ang na*ging resulta.

Sabi ko, tama ba `yung ginawa ko? Okey ba ako? Pero, sabi ni Direk Gil Tejada, okey naman kaya take on lang kami,” bungad na kuwento ni Isabel.

Para sa kaalaman ng lahat, si Patrick ang unang leading man sa Sine Novela na Maging Akin Ka Lamang, pero dahil nabuntis nga si Jennylyn, pinalitan ito ni Polo Ravales.

At bagamat inulit pa rin ang eksena na kung saan ay ginahasa niya ang bidang lalake sa Sine Novela, hindi na raw siya nahirapan.

“Okey na nung inulit, kasi nagawa ko na kay Patrick. With Polo, wala nang problema,” say ni Isa*bel.

Sabi pa rin ni Isabel, hindi magiging madali lang lahat sa kanya kung hindi niya naramdaman ang suporta ng boyfriend niyang si Paolo Contis.

Si Paolo raw ang unang kumumbinsi sa kanya na tanggapin ang papel na unang ginampanan ni Lorna Tolentino sa movie version nito, dalawang dekada na ang naka*raraan.

“Kahit sa taping namin, nagpunta si Tattie (tawag ni Isa*bel kay Paolo). Hindi naman sa natakot siya or nagselos siya kaya siya nagbantay, kundi gusto lang niya akong ma*ging kumportable.

“Nung mabasa kasi niya `yung script, sabi niya, ‘Mommy (tawag ni Paolo kay Isabel), tanggapin mo `yung role, maganda’.

“And then, sa taping namin, siya `yung nakatingin sa mo*nitor. Siya `yung nagsabi sa akin na okey ang ginawa ko. Ayoko kasing tingnan `yung scene. Pero, sabi nga ni Tattie, okey raw, walang problema, hindi raw malaswa. Anyway, hindi naman puwede sa TV ang malaswa,” patuloy na kuwento pa rin ni Isabel.

Sa presscon nga, taglay-taglay pa rin ni Isabel ang ma*laking pagbabago sa kanyang itsura. Hindi na nga siya `yung Isabel na parang sobrang konserbatibo, na bagamat modelo ang dating, parang palaging nahihiya.

Kitang-kita nga ang confidence sa itsura ni Isa*bel ngayon. Wala nga siyang pakialam kung malantad man ang kanyang magagandang hita sa suot niyang maiksing damit.

At medyo makapal-kapal na rin ang make up na nakakulapol sa kanyang mukha.

Sabi ni Isabel, part daw `yon ng preparations na ginawa niya para sa papel niya bilang Rosita. Si Ro*sita raw kasi ay isang mayamang babae, na edukada at sosyal na sosyal ang dating.

At sa pagbabago ng itsurang `yon ni Isabel, sabi nga ay parang nakuha na niya ang kagandahan ni Lorna noon.

“May pressure talaga, dahil si Ate Lorna ang unang nag-portray sa role na pinu-portray ko nga*yon. Napanood ko `yung movie, at ang husay-husay niya. Sabi ko nga, kahit sana katiting sa ginawa niya, makuha ko. Eh, I heard pa na naka-grandslam si Ate Lorna for best actress para sa movie na ito.

“Natakot talaga ako sa simula. Sabi ko nga, ang laki ng role ko. Parang bida-kontrabida. Matindi talaga ang pressure. Pero, ginawa ko naman `yung dapat kong gawin,” lahad pa rin ni Isabel.

Si Rosita rin daw ang klase ng babae na sobrang agresibo, na gagawin ang lahat, makuha lang niya ang lalakeng minamahal. Doon daw sila magkaiba ni Rosita.

“Sa career, agresibo ako. Pero sa romance, slow ako, eh,” nakangi*ting pag-amin niya.

Wala pa raw balak sina Isabel at Paolo na magpakasal.

“Bahay muna bago kasal. Wala pa kaming bahay, eh. Kung may bahay na, doon na siguro puwedeng pag-usapan ang kasal,” say na lang ni Isabel.

Anyway, kasama rin sa Maging Akin Ka Lamang sina Nadine Samonte, Carlo Aquino, Alicia Alonzo, Dexter Doria, Juan Rodrigo, Mike Tan, at Arci Munoz.

Lalong gumaganda si Isabel Oli dahil na rin kay Paolo Contis si*guro na inspirasyon niya at all-out pa ang suporta sa kanya sa bago niyang serye.

Malaking challenge kay Isabel na gampanan ang papel ni Lorna Tolentino sa Maging Akin Ka Lamang.

Alam daw niyang mahirap lagpasan ang galing ni LT sa pelikulang iyun, pero sana ay magampanan daw niya nang maayos.

Napag-usapan ang bahay na ipinapatayo ni Paolo, natatawa si Isa*bel kapag naalala niyang madalas na sinasabi ni Paolo ang tungkol sa kanilang kuwarto sa bahay na iyun.

Kung magsalita si Paolo ay parang tiyak na tiyak na siyang si Isabel ang ititira niya sa ipinapatayong bahay.

Natutuwa naman ang magandang aktres dahil kasama siya sa mga plano ni Paolo.

Nalulula raw siya sa mga gastos ni Paolo sa bahay na iyun para mapaganda lang.

Kaya siya na raw minsan ang nagku-control na huwag masyadong pala*kihin ang gastos dahil kailangan din nilang magtipid para sa mga susunod nilang plano.

Kung kasal ang tinutukoy ni Isabel, tsaka na raw pag-usapan iyun dahil marami pa silang plano ni Paolo.

Proud na proud din si Isabel sa bagong look ngayon ni Paolo na nagpakulay ng buhok. Lalo raw gumuwapo ang aktor pero sobrang tiwala raw siya kahit aware siyang maraming girls ang naghahabol sa aktor.

“Hindi siya seloso,” sambit ni Isabel. “Alam niyang hindi ako pababayaan ni Direk Gil (Tejada).

“Andu’n si Paolo nang kunan ang kissing scene. Tingin ko, may mali sa pag-kiss ko sa neck, kaya tinanong ko pa siya, ‘Pwede na ba ‘yun?’

ISABEL SCARED OF LT ROLE

ISABEL Oli gets the most challenging role in her career as Rosita Monteverde, the anti-heroine in “Maging Akin Ka Lamang” that will replace “Pasan Ko ang Daigdig” in GMA-7’s Dramarama sa Hapon starting Monday.

“When Direk Gil Tejada told me I’d play the lead role, pinanood ko ang original movie starring Lorna Tolentino as Rosita and after watching it, I got so scared,” she says. “It’s a very demanding role at baka hindi ko makaya. Miss LT won several best actress awards daw for her performance and that’s an added pressure. But then, I also welcome the challenge. Sayang naman if I’d bypass such a good role. Direk Gil promised me he’d take good care of me and in fairness to him, talagang hindi niya ako pinabayaan.”

What did her boyfriend, Paolo Contis, say about it? “He’s very supportive. Sabi niya, tanggapin ko raw. And during one of the most difficult scenes, when I made Patrick Garcia drunk, then seduced him and practically raped him, he was there to give me moral support.

Tinanong ko pa nga siya kung okay ang trabaho ko kasi take one lang ako kay Direk Gil at hindi na pinaulit. Okay naman with him. But later, we had to repeat the same scene all over again as Patrick was replaced by Polo Ravales after Jennylyn Mercado got pregnant and was also replaced by Nadine Samonte. But by then, alam ko na ang gagawin ko. For this bida-kontrabida role, I have to forget myself kasi very aggressive si Rosita, e I’m not like that. She’s also an heiress who’s filthy rich, so I have to get my own stylist and make up artist para tulungan akong mag-project na rich socialite ako on screen.”

We heard Paolo is building a house for the two of them. Does this mean we’ll hear wedding bells ringing for them soon? “Ay, hindi pa. We have no plans yet. As of now, we’re happy with our setup and he even spent New Year in Singapore with my family. We’re just supportive of each other’s career. I watched his movie, ‘Banal’, at pinabilib din niya ako roon kasi he’s always playing villain roles at mabait na bida naman siya roon.”

IN fairness, maraming fans ang concerned na huwag maapi si Isabel Oli sa bagong afternoon Sinenovela ng GMA-7 na Maging Akin Ka Lamang.

Sa mga naunang press release raw kasi ng Siyete, parang sina Nadine Samonte at Polo Ravales lang ang bida ng dating pelikula nina Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, Lorna Tolentino at Jay Ilagan.

Eh, kung tutuusin daw, equally important naman ang roles na ginagampanan nina Isabel at Nadine, kaya hindi dapat solohin ng huli ang limelight.

Kung si Nadine ang gaganap na Dina, si Isabel naman si LT. Si Polo si Boyet at si Carlo si Jay.

Pero kung sabagay, sa press kit na ibinigay sa MAKL presscon the other night, naka-specify doon na ang serye ay “kuwento ng apat na nilalang na umibig at nasaktan.”

Meaning, pare-pareho lang silang bida sa MAKL, kaya hindi dapat mag-alala ang avid Isabel followers. We’re sure GMA-7 execs know na may ibubuga ito sa akting.

Makakasama nga si Isabel Oli sa bagong GMA Sine Novela na Maging Akin Ka Lamang, na pagbibidahan nina Nadine Samonte at Polo Ravales.

Hango ito sa 1987 Viva movie ng the late Lino Brocka na originally ay pinagbidahan nina Lorna Tolentino, Christopher de Leon, Dina Bonnevie at Jay Ilagan.

Hindi nga makapaniwala si Isabel na sa kanya ibibigay ang role ni Lorna Tolentino bilang si Rosita Monteverde. Paborito ni Isabel si Lorna kaya masaya siya.

Alam ni Isabel na maraming awards na napanalunan si LT dahil sa pelikulang ito.

“Napanood ko sa TV ‘yung Maging Akin Ka Lamang at galing na galing ako kay Ms. LT. Hindi ko akalain na balang araw ako ang gaganap sa role na iyon.

“Definitely, maiiba na ang image ko kasi bida-kon­trabida ang pagganap ni Rosita. Medyo maiiba ang looks ko pati na ang mga gagawin ko sa drama na ito. Kasi nga aakitin ko si Polo rito at nanakawin ko ang anak nila ni Nadine.

“So it’s a total change talaga from the image na nakilala ako ng marami.

Nasanay na silang mahinhin ako, pa-sweet at nagpapa-tweetums. Ngayon lalabas ang pagiging maldita ko rito.”

Sabi pa ni Isabel, gusto niyang makausap si LT para makakuha siya ng tips kung paano nito ginampanan ng buong husay ang papel na Rosita.

“Gusto kong may malaman ako kay Ms. LT. Kasi nga the late Lino Brocka ang nagdirek ng movie at gusto kong makakuha ng ilang acting tips. Pero hindi ko naman totally gagayahin si Ms. LT. Magbibigay pa rin ako ng sarili kong interpretasyon sa role.”
